Cornish shark
Just read this story about a thresher shark being washed up on Hayle beach in Cornwall. I was near Hayle last year and it isn't the sort of beach you expect to find any large animal washed up on. When I lived in Newquay on the Atlantic coast we used to find large eels washed up a lot and once in near by Watergate bay a huge whale was washed up. By the time we got to see it all that was left was the huge rib cage, a truly awesome sight. I do like sharks a lot, and it seems a mystery why a shark like this would wash up.

Oscar the Grouch
I have had a grouchy grumpy old week; losing my temper at the slightest thing. I really do feel like Oscar the Grouch living in his trash can sometimes! I have been really impatient at work. I have yet again been advised to SLOW DOWN by my GP, by Jase and by everyone!
Hope is just around the corner. This time in 2 weeks I'll be flying somewhere above Siberia on my way to Japan for an 18 day holiday and I can't wait! I am already planning what to pack, what outfit to wear to the airport. Jase finds this very amusing but then he was in hysterics when I told him that my wardrobe was in transition from my summer wardrobe to winter one, and this was why some of my clothes had found their way on to his rack! I make my self sound incredibly shallow! But I do love clothes. I'm not fashion conscious but I love style and I love colours. I am just a sucker for anything soft or shiny or unusual.
Anyway Japan is the world capital of shiny, unusual style! The stylish Japanese are just so cool or sugoi should I say! I can't wait to be back there.

Sorry for long silence
It's been nearly 2 weeks since I updated my blog. A long time for me. I'm not sure where the last 2 weeks have gone. Work has been busy pulling together the latest draft of our equality scheme. I have been busy reading with my new Sony Reader which is fabulous - enlarges the text for me beautifully! Still learning Japanese, on to learning directions at the moment. turn left after the traffic lights type thing.
Still going to the physio every week, and my back is not getting worse but not really getting much better. My physio says it is up to me now if I do my exercises and avoid straining my back it will get better. It is so hard to not over do it though! Watched the whole series of Doll House over the last fortnight which was fun. Will have to catch up with House now.
Only 3 weeks to holiday in Japan which is great. Can't wait.

Dangerous biscuits
This story really made me laugh. Researchers have discovered that the killer custard cream is the most dangerous of biscuits. Some biscuit related injuries included being stabbed in the eye with a biscuit and getting stuck in wet cement after dropping a biscuit in it and attempting to fish it out! The whole concept of dangerous biscuits is just genius!

Early Autumn walk
Jase and I had a lovely walk along the river Wandle yesterday which gave Jase the opportunity to try out his new macro/micro lens. You can have a look at the pics here on his photo stream on Flickr. There are pictures of spiders, snails, hops, berries, butterflies and much, much more.
Today I went back along the river with my friend David for a "cake walk" which means walking to the National Trust shop to eat cake. David tried a courgette and lemon cake I had a cinnamon and apple scone.
My back is appreciating the walking I think, which is good. Some of Jase's pics are below.
Jase has called the photo below Brambles not blackberries! How very Scottish!

Fox Fans
If any of you out there are fans of foxes? (I certainly am) a couple of fox related items for you.
One of my twitter buddies makes excellent videos and photos of Mrs Fox Star, a beautiful female fox who visits his garden regularly. The latest video was filmed with special night cameras and is called Night Shift. Just click on the night shift link and it'll take you to the video on YouTube
I am also very excited about the Fantastic Mr Fox film due out next year I think. Click here for the official website and the trailer. With George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray and Michael Gambon voicing the characters it's got to be good!
Although not strictly a fox related story, this story about a wolf being spotted in West Lothian Scotland caught my attention last week. I'm sure it was just a husky! Nice picture of a wolf though
Quo Vadis Styling
I don't normally run adverts on my blog but a good friend and colleague of mine has set up a small part time business Quo Vadis Styling. His local paper the Docklands has dubbed him the next Gok Wan but unfortunately ladies Quo Vadis Styling is for the discerning gentleman. Or basically blokes that want to be stylish and make an impression but aren't sure what's going to suit them, be value for money and above all stylish.
The Docklands paper has run two consecutive articles on Andrew and his business, links below:
First article
Second article which is a review of the service - very interesting
Anyway any guys reading this or women who want to treat their husbands, boyfriends or Dad's just click on the link to Quo Vadis and book an appointment!
Plug over! I'd like to think I helped the next Gok on his way to stardom!
